Daniel Cameron is a board certified primary care physician who has
thirty years of experience as a clinician, teacher, and researcher.
He has been at the forefront of Lyme disease research and treatment
since the early l990s, and is considered one of the pioneers in
successfully treating recurrent or chronic Lyme. Dr. Cameron’s
prudent and balanced approach to dealing with the realities of this
complex illness has earned him the respect of his colleagues and
patients. He combines compassion with a scientist’s objectivity
in looking at the evidence.
Daniel Cameron’s commitment to serving as a mentor for other doctors began when he was Assistant Professor of Medicine in Geriatrics at the New York College of Medicine, and continues to this day with his mentoring of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants— especially those interested in the unique challenges of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease. His initial master's defense in epidemiology, publications on the subjects of delirium and dementia, and many scientific presentations at Lyme conferences, are evidence of his ongoing commitment to high quality patient-oriented research. His medical practice also conducts and provides monetary support for well-designed clinical studies that may lead to future breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease.
As leader of the Lyme Disease Practice and Research project, Dr. Cameron has final responsibility for all its scientific, administrative, and operational aspects.
Dr. Cameron remains active in the practice of medicine, personally attends all the patients who visit his practice, and is affiliated with Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mt. Kisco, NY. He is currently the president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS), and has published and presented more than 30 scientific papers.
